Neukirchen students show social commitment

In the period before Christmas, the pupils at the Neukirchen Middle School collected donations in cash and in kind for social projects. In order to give joy and hope to children in Romania, almost a hundred Christmas gifts were packed and sent. In addition, on the initiative of religious education teacher Monika Schauer, schoolchildren sold chocolates and chips that had been bought through the Missio youth campaign in their free time, making a turnover of over 2000 euros. This money is used to support children who currently have to work with their parents in brick factories so that they can go to school. A fundraising campaign for children in Pakistan also raised more than 2,000 euros. The Fair Play campaign, in which the country doubles projects in development aid countries, increased this amount to over 4,000 euros. Schoolchildren in class 4a sold homemade cookies and with the money they raised they supported a project for needy children in the slums of the Philippines.
