Samarein organized Impfstrasse on his own

“Samarein vaccinated”: The community sent a leaflet to inform the citizens about their self-organized vaccination route – and many came to the event center last Saturday. After the start shortly before 9 a.m., 100 people were vaccinated in the first hour. At the end of the day there were a total of 374 people who were immunized. Among them were more than 250 St. Marienkirchner who used the opportunity in the village, the rest came mainly from the neighboring communities. Thanks to the three doctors Christoph Traunmüller-Wurm, Irene Geroldinger and Oliver Weiss and the commitment of community employees and volunteers, the vaccination campaign went smoothly and without long waiting times. 44 opted for the first stitch, 42 came for a second vaccination, and the rest got the booster.

“It is nice that all parliamentary groups in the community board have supported the Impfstraße”, emphasize Mayor Harald Grubmair (ÖVP), who got his third trick, as well as the chairman of the health committee and former SPÖ member of the state parliament Erich Pilsner.

The community wanted to make its own contribution to combating the pandemic and therefore decided to set up its own campaign, after all, every vaccination counts. The community employees made sure that all information sheets were filled out and that data was recorded electronically. “The people were totally satisfied because everything was well organized, and many expressed their praise for the good service,” says Pilsner. A vaccination shuttle service was even offered for non-mobile people. With a vaccination rate of around 65 percent, Samarein is currently average. It was hoped that the proportion with the first vaccinations would be a little higher.
