A 74-year-old lost control of his Suzuki around 11:30 a.m. while driving on the L550 towards Windischgarsten: In the municipality of Rosenau am Hengstpass, he left the road and crashed into a bridge railing, which prevented him from falling the Dambach preserved.
The Windischgarsten and Rosenau fire departments were alerted under the operational keyword “traffic accident, trapped person”, but the driver was able to get out of the car independently. He was cared for by first responders and rescue workers and then taken to a hospital by emergency helicopter.
The fire brigades took care of the recovery of the accident vehicle. The state road had to be closed while the accident was being investigated, the police announced on Wednesday evening.
