And although the official opening will only take place on January 20th with Hubert von Goisern, Conchita Wurst and the “Tausend” choir in Bad Ischl, Gmunden already provided a foretaste on the first day of the new year: the New Year’s concert in the city theater was completely sold out.
The audience was able to listen to works by Leonard Bernstein, Friedrich Cerha, Balduin Sulzer and Johann Strauss. Applause for the ORF Radio Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Tobias Wögerer was guaranteed with every piece.
The busy cultural calendar continues tomorrow with the Glöckler Runs: traditionally in Ebensee (6 p.m.), but also in Gmunden, Steinbach am Attersee or in Bad Goisern.
