The 28-year-old from the Urfahr-Raum district was driving in Feldkirchen an der Donau towards Bergheim on Wednesday around 5:30 p.m. when he suddenly lost control of his vehicle, started to skid and finally crashed head-on into a chapel on the side of the road. The chapel, made of brick, collapsed completely in the collision.
The man, who had 1.7 per mille of alcohol in his blood, was injured in the incident and had to be taken to hospital by rescue after first aid.
