With a total of 3,426 births, 3,503 babies were born at the Kepler University Hospital in 2023: 1,705 girls and 1,798 boysThere were 71 sets of twins and three sets of triplets. The proportion of cesarean sections is 33 percent. “We support necessary caesarean sections, but are of the opinion that, like any other surgical measure, they require a clear justification or indication,” says Peter Oppelt, head of the University Clinic for Gynecology, Obstetrics and Gynecological Endocrinology.
