The local was driving his car on the L1039 around 10 p.m. when he lost control of his car near the town of Schauberg. The vehicle veered off the Sonnleiten district road to the left and crashed into a wooden shelter on the side.

The force of the impact threw the 35-year-old, who was not wearing a seatbelt, onto the passenger side. He sustained serious injuries, but managed to climb out of the wreckage through the passenger window. Following drivers found the seriously injured people lying on the side of the road, provided first aid and started the rescue chain. After initial treatment, the 35-year-old was taken to the Ried hospital, the police said on Friday morning.
