The leader made reference in this way to the schedule planned for this year, in which he plans to start, continue and complete a series of road infrastructure works throughout the national territory.


“We have works underway throughout the country. If we start from the north, we have route 27, Rivera to Vichadero. We have works on route 30, from route 5 to Artigas”, detailed the owner of the MTOP, and added that “in the center, route 20, which connects route 5 with route 24, will be ready in April or May.”
He also noted the completion of Route 81—which links Routes 33 and 5—in February, with the completion of the roundabout in Saint Baptist; and he announced that on route 14—which has been working on several sections—there will be strong progress in the first half of the year in the part that connects Lascano with Varela, while by the end of this year it will be “practically finished.” For its part, route 15 that connects Lascano with Velazquez It will be completed towards the middle of the year.
New works, bridges and highway
During 2024, the MTOP, In addition to completing a wide variety of works in the portfolio, it will also begin several works on national routes. One of them, for example, is the repair of route 1, in the section that connects the towns of Creek and Tarariras (Cologne).
Falero also commented that the ministry plans new exchangers, as at the intersection of the perimeter route and route 1; and solutions in intersections, as in Salinas, along with the intervention of 250 bridges. According to him, these works, together with the modernization of national routes and the inauguration of new interchanges, will improve conditions for drivers and residents.
In that sense, the leader confirmed that the portfolio he directs is advancing in the definition of the final layout of the country’s first highway, which will go from route 8 to Interspa Route, and which aims to improve connectivity in the metropolitan area. The priority is that “it does not affect either the urban or the environmental; When we have this resolved, we will start bidding for that work,” Falero explained.
