During a short break during the second round of the Epiphany competition on Saturday, an activist ran into the run-out of the Paul-Außerleitner-Schanze and distributed orange powder there. However, the activist was quickly caught again and taken away by the police. The course of the ski jumping competition was not affected.

The activists wanted to draw attention to the urgency of the climate crisis and the need for immediate action from the government, the group said in a statement. “Listen to the Climate Council” was written on a poster that the activist held up as he walked out; a second activist was immediately stopped. “They want to grab attention. We understand why you want to make yourself noticed. But you shouldn’t disturb such great sporting events,” said Mario Stecher, sporting director of the ski jumpers and combined athletes in the ÖSV.
There was already an interruption shortly before the end of the ski world cup slalom in Gurgl in November. Several activists ran into the finish area and also spread orange paint on the snow. The area was then cleaned and the remaining riders at the start had to wait for their run in the second round.
