And what are the little ones called? Anna is clearly at the top of the girls’ hit list, according to a press release from the hospital. This name was given ten times. Seven Hanna(h)s and six each Emilias, Johannas and Leas were born. For boys, the most popular names were Felix and Jakob (seven each), followed by Liam, Maximilian and Valentin (five each).
The Innviertler New Year’s baby was also born in Schärding: Julius Fritz Meinert from Hülsesbach in Bavaria was born on New Year’s Day at 2:39 a.m.

Speaking of which: Julius Fritz is not the only Bavarian who was born in Schärding. Last year there were a total of 49 children from Bavaria. But most mothers still come from the Schärding district and neighboring districts.
“We attach great importance to the individual and personal care of our patients. Knowing that they are in good hands and being regional to their place of residence – these are decisive factors for many mothers when choosing a hospital,” says nurse Marieluise Kindermann, ward manager for gynecology and obstetrics.
