ÖHB handball players clearly lost the last European Championship test

Austria’s handball players are traveling to Germany without any sense of success in preparation for the European Championships, which begin on Friday:

Team boss Ales Pajovic’s team lost against Iceland 37:37 (16:16) on Monday in front of around 1,000 spectators in Linz-Kleinmünchen.

Two days after a first test match against the Scandinavians (28:33 in Schwechat), the ÖHB selection showed an improvement, at least in their own withdrawal behavior.

After initial difficulties, Sebastian Frimmel gave Red-White-Red the lead for the first time four minutes before the half-time siren from a seven-meter shot (14:13). The best ÖHB thrower was Lukas Hutecek (ten goals). Although the Icelanders made a lot of changes at the break, they ultimately had the upper hand. Moritz Mittendorfer saw a red card after a foul (48th). Even before the game started, Krems goalkeeper Thomas Eichberger was removed from the final European Championship squad.
