The Fernandino leader highlighted the economic and advertising efforts of the local government to attract visitors of these age groups to its main tourist destinations.
In dialogue with radio Sarandí, the politician belonging to the National Party (PN) assured that there is great activity during the first days of January “from Jose Ignacio until Piriapolis“.
Asked about whether the young people moved from Rocha due to the repeated complaints about annoying noises made by the residents of The stone and Devil’s Point, Antía He stated that “there may be something to that.” However, he stressed that young people say “let’s go to Maldonado because it’s much busier,” since they “feel like they have more space” in their apartment.
“That is an old search that we are having, we have been with that line for years, since 2000, we always bet on the theme of events and the Youth Zone, because we know that if there are no young people, there is no future,” he said.
Antía expressed that if the Mayor Department of Maldonado (IDM) does not invest in the arrival of young people, it will not generate a future for the department. “To the extent that we have found the way to generate a lot of movement during the summer, we have had responses, without a doubt, from the young people,” he commented on the matter.
“The Brazilians came en masse”
On the other hand, Antía also celebrated the arrival of Brazilian tourists, which “came en masse” during the first half of January. “Every year there are a little more Brazilians, and that’s good,” he said. Antíastating that this was possible thanks to a joint policy between the IDM and the national government.
“The national and departmental governments have gone out together to tour the main tourist centers in the south of Brazil to promote the department and the country”, emphasizing the fact that, today, “there are many Brazilian parties and many Brazilian cars.
