Putin and Biden began negotiations via video link

Russian President Vladimir Putin and American leader Joe Biden on Tuesday, December 7, began negotiations via video link.

The parties are expected to discuss the situation in Ukraine, NATO’s eastward expansion and the international agenda. The heads of state will also touch upon Afghanistan and the issue of bilateral relations.

In addition, the conversation will touch upon the implementation of the agreements reached during the previous meeting in Geneva, which took place on June 16 at the Villa La Grange.

Then, during the summit, Putin and Biden adopted a joint statement on strategic stability. It said that countries, through dialogue, seek to lay the foundation for future arms control and risk mitigation measures.

At the same time, on December 6, the former head of the White House, Donald Trump, expressed the opinion that the presidential talks would be an “unequal match” for the American side. Trump also added that he himself always acted harshly towards the Russian Federation, while he liked the Russian leader.
