When the 42-year-old showed up at the woman’s home address the next day, threatened to kill her again and wanted to damage the 37-year-old’s car, she called the police. The ex-boyfriend fled and, according to the police, they have been looking for him ever since.
The man, whose citizenship is unknown but was born in Chechnya, does not have a legal residence in Austria. A search was initially carried out at the suspect’s mother’s home address, but he was not found there either. The search has been ongoing since then. Apparently the man’s threatening gestures were trying to get the woman to come back to him.
Girlfriend insulted, spat on, threatened with murder
There was another incident of domestic violence yesterday in Döbling. A 32-year-old Austrian was arrested because he allegedly insulted, spit on and threatened to kill his girlfriend during an argument. Since the man didn’t stop making threats after he had already left their apartment, the 33-year-old called the police. A ban on entry and approach as well as a provisional weapons ban were issued against the accused. The dispute was about the 32-year-old’s excessive alcohol consumption.
