The ancient Italian goddess Feronia, who was also revered in Rome, is referred to as “the flower-lover”. Her name stands for spring and earth. This is also why she is the namesake of the sustainability award, which the OÖN and its partners Oberbank and the State of Upper Austria are awarding for the second time this year. Applications are possible from January 13th to February 3rd, details can be found at nachrichten.at/feronia

The prize is awarded in four categories: In the first category, “Thoroughly Sustainable,” companies are sought whose business model is based on sustainability.

The second category, “Sustainable Products and Services”, is about sustainable offers and alternatives for customers, the environment and society.

The third category, “Diversity of Sustainability,” honors the colorful diversity of social engagement in culture, art and associations in our country.

In the fourth category, “Learning and teaching sustainably”, school and class projects that prepare the topic of sustainability with new ideas for next generations are to be brought to the fore. Great prizes await the winners: per category there is 9,000 euros in media volume from the OÖN and 5,000 euros in prize money from the Oberbank.
