Alert level two was declared early on Tuesday afternoon in Wippenham (Ried im Innkreis district): fire broke out on an agricultural property for reasons that are still unclear. The Wippenham, Ried, Mehrnbach, Gurten, Ampfenham, Blindenhofen, Senftenbach and Eitzing fire departments responded. Using breathing apparatus and a turntable ladder, they were able to quickly bring the fire, which was confined to an outbuilding, under control and prevent the flames from spreading to the residential building. According to initial information, no one was injured, but the roof of the affected barn was severely damaged. The extent of the material damage caused could not yet be quantified on Tuesday.
