The Brazilian João Pimenta da Silva, 71 years old, He died this Monday after falling 40 meters into the well who was digging in his own kitchen. This excavation occurred due to a dream, where a spirit told him about the existence of a treasure in that part of the house.
After this episode, the man who lived in Ipatingastate of Minas Gerais, was absolutely convinced that there was gold, and his obsession became such that he hired professionals to carry out the excavation, ignoring the warnings received.
A neighbor assured a local media that, “João spent more than a year digging the well and hired several people to carry out the excavation. Initially, he paid 70 Brazilian reals per day when the hole was shallow, but as the depth increased, the costs also increased”

Furthermore, Antônio Wilson Costa, a friend of the victim who was collaborating with the excavation, was present at the time of the accident and detailed: “When he got to the top, the swing started to slide and he got caught in the rope by his arm. “I tried to hold him down, alone, there was no way to ask for help.”
The fall caused him, according to the official report, ”polytrauma, open fractures in both legs, hip fracture, laceration in the abdomen and trunk, as well as severe head trauma”.
