It almost turned out to be a dream start: the piste team at Hochlecken had already created the perfect starting point for the winter at the end of November. At the beginning of December, almost 30 centimeters of new snow was added to these efforts, which also persisted in the valleys of the Salzkammergut thanks to the low temperatures. But only for a few days: a warm front left the operators around Hannes Spiesberger out in the cold.
The biggest Christmas wish was therefore an opening on December 25th. But big wishes take a little longer: On Friday, January 12th, at 9 a.m. the starting signal will finally sound at Hochlecken: the season can begin. At least thirteen days earlier than last year – and this season can now also be looked back on positively.
Everything is prepared for school classes and ski courses. Friday and Saturday it is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. On Sunday, visitors can ski on the slopes from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The momentum returns to the Attersee at the weekend: the Kronberg ski lift also starts again on Friday (2 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.). The employees of the Wachtberg lifts in Weyregg am Attersee have had their hands full over the past few days repairing the damage caused by the storm, but are now just as ready to go.
