All young people will now be placed on the most restrictive content control settings on social media platforms, the US tech company announced on Tuesday. In addition, Meta restricts other search terms on Instagram. This makes it more difficult for minors to find potentially sensitive content or accounts.

In October, numerous US states sued the company because of the increased addiction risk of its social networks. The EU has also increased pressure on Meta, demanding more detailed information about the measures it is taking to better protect children from harmful content online.
