Rumors that there was a major police operation in Waldzell, Ried district during the day made the rounds last night. Shortly before 9:30 p.m., the OÖN reached the spokesman for the Ried public prosecutor, Alois Ebner, who confirmed the rumors by telephone. “My first information is that a resident of an assisted living home who was born in 1944 left the home on Thursday night. According to initial investigations, the woman probably fell outside and froze to death due to the very cold night temperatures,” said Ebner. There is no evidence of violence, so a crime can be ruled out. No further information was available on Thursday evening.
