A car slipped backwards from a steep access road into the Traun shortly before 6 p.m. on Thursday. The driver was lucky in misfortune: the Traun has a low water level, reports the Ohlsdorf volunteer fire department, which came to the driver’s aid. Because the road was slippery, no heavy emergency vehicle could be brought directly to the scene of the accident.

“The rescue workers were faced with the challenge of rescuing the vehicle from the soft bank area. By joining forces, they managed to push the car out of the river bed using muscle power. The car was then pulled back onto the access road using a cable winch,” it said Fire department.
