Gunskirchen subcamp: stele is unveiled

The new memorial column will be unveiled on Tuesday.

This column is intended to make the system of the Mauthausen camp with its more than 40 sub-camps visible. In the future, this should be referenced at as many external storage locations as possible. The column in Gunskirchen is the second stele to be erected after Melk. After the unveiling, which will be attended by representatives of the Mauthausen Committee, the director of the Mauthausen Concentration Camp Memorial, Barbara Glück, and Mayor Christian Schöffmann, the film “A Boy’s Life” about the concentration camp survivor Daniel Chanoch will be shown in the event center (18.30 Clock). The Lithuanian was liberated by the US Army in Gunskirchen in May 1945. After the film there is an opportunity to talk to director Florian Weigensamer. Admission: voluntary donations.
