Homeless people exploited and put under pressure: investigations against influencers (23)

The 23-year-old recorded videos with the homeless man and started an appeal for donations for him, the police reported on Friday. Thanks to the influencer’s 1.2 million followers on TikTok and Instagram, more than 30,000 euros were raised.

A public order officer was therefore surprised when he found the homeless man on the street last August and his situation had not visibly improved. The homeless man (24) said the influencer fobbed him off with a few hundred euros, the police said. He also put pressure on him to record more videos with him.

Investigations are ongoing

Investigators have now written to more than 2,500 people as potential donors and possible victims. Investigations are underway for fraud, grievous bodily harm, threats and coercion.
