56.83 percent of voters chose Seemann, while ex-mayor Franz Scheiböck (SP), who resigned in September of the previous year, received 43.17 percent of the vote. The voter turnout was 68.49 percent.

Former mayor Scheiböck doesn’t see his new appointment as a mistake: “For me it was important what the people want.” The municipality’s financial problems would have gotten worse if he hadn’t taken an order, emphasized the defeated SP candidate.
In 2021, Scheiböck surprisingly won the mayoral election after many decades of VP dominance. His departure was preceded by a heated argument with the head of the office, whom he accused of abuse of office and reported to the public prosecutor. The young woman resigned and started work in Gallspach, where she now works in her own position.
