“Russia provides over 40% of Greece’s natural gas needs. Deliveries are carried out, among other things, via the new Turkish Stream pipeline. This year we have increased our exports by more than 12% – up to 3 billion cubic meters. m “, – said Putin.
According to him, Russia “has always conscientiously and fully fulfills its contractual obligations to both Greek and other European partners and consumers.” He also indicated that the Russian side will continue guaranteed uninterrupted energy supplies.
“We are ready to build on mutually beneficial cooperation in this area, including taking into account the growing role of gas as the cleanest and most environmentally friendly fuel,” the Russian President added following talks with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
Earlier, on November 30, Putin said that the Russian energy sector is one of the greenest in the world. He drew attention to the fact that gas supplies from the Russian Federation will grow, including to Europe, where its own production fell by 24%.
