The Italian airline ITA Airways was going from Rome to the city of Buenos Aires but had an incident with a 70-year-old man.

Flight AZ680 had departed from the airport in Fiumicino, in Rome this Saturday night at 10:49 p.m. and everything was going on normally, until the passenger decompensated, presumably due to a cardiac incident, according to the first evaluations.
Given the situation, the crew members summoned a doctor or nurse among the passengers on board, and the relevant resuscitation exercises were performed, but unfortunately he could not be resuscitated and his death was confirmed this morning.
Faced with this situation, the aircraft commander decided to request an emergency landing in the city of Meitherntevideo – specifically at the airport Carrasco – where he touched the track at 8:40 this Sunday.
The Uruguayan National Air Police and the plane remained at the airport this morning, until the forensic tests are carried out and the court on duty intervenes. Company sources indicated that once the required procedures have been completed and the aircraft is available again, they will continue with the flight to Buenos Aires.
ITA should fly back to Rome at 13:45 with service AZ681, but it is very likely that this will be delayed due to the situation.
