Supergas sales fell 7% in 2023

The sale of supergas —liquefied petroleum gas— fell 7% in the accumulated annual figure last year compared to the same period in 2022, while shipments of 13-kilogram bottles to the Uruguayan fuel distributor SA (Ducsa) They decreased by 5% compared to the same period.

The data comes from the transparency reports prepared by Ancapcorresponding to the month of December 2023. During that month, both the number of bottles shipped and the number of cubic meters sold was lower than the same month in 2022.

Over the past year, Ancap sold 176,900 cubic meters of supergas, behind the 190,900 cubic meters it reached in 2022. The highest peak of sales in 2022 and 2023 was June, where 26,400 cubic meters and 20,400 cubic meters were sold, respectively. At the other extreme, the month with the lowest sales for both years was January, with 10,500 cubic meters in 2022, and 10,300 in 2023.

The only three months last year where the 2022 figures were exceeded were April, September and November, where 13,600 cubic meters, 17,000 cubic meters, and 12,700 cubic meters were totaled, respectively.

The shipment of 13 kilo bottles decreased by 5% in 2023

On the other hand, withdrawals 13 kilo jugs carried out by Ducsa of the packaging plants as of December 2023 decreased by 5% compared to the same period in 2022.

Throughout 2023, a total of 1,417,000 13-kilogram bottles were shipped; while in 2022 the number had reached 1,460,000 bottles. The only months in which last year’s dispatch exceeded that of 2022 were January, February, April and September; with 89,000, 90,000, 106,000 and 136,000 bottles, respectively.
