Margareta Riener, the oldest resident of the Vöcklabruck senior citizens’ home, celebrated her 100th birthday. Riener comes from Vienna, where she worked as a kindergarten teacher. In 1945 she fled the Red Army to Vöcklabruck. Mayor Peter Schobesberger congratulated the jubilee. “I’m fascinated by this woman,” he enthuses. “She does her movement exercises every day to stay fit.”
For Vöcklabruck’s mayor, Margareta Riener’s old age is also a sign of the quality of her care. “She clearly feels at home in the urban retirement home,” says Schobesberger. “That gives me the feeling that we, and especially the nurses, are doing everything right. People can grow old with dignity with us. Really old! “
The mayor had already visited Ms. Cäcilia Hinterholzer in the St. Klara home in the summer and congratulated her on her 102nd birthday.
