The police were called to an unusual operation in Schärding on Monday afternoon: a swan had strayed onto the busy B137 near the Inn Bridge. The water bird was spotted and captured by officers from the Schärding police station in a parking lot next to the federal highway. A veterinarian examined the “visibly battered and stressed” animal, the police announced in the evening. The swan probably survived its dangerous trip unharmed and was released back into the wild right at the Inn.
