The update includes a provisional adjustment based on the variation in the Average Nominal Wage Index of fictitious salaries by category.
The Retirement and Pension Fund for University Professionals (Cjppu) communicated the new increases in contributions, which have already come into effect since January 1 of this year and include a provisional adjustment based on the variation of the Average Nominal Wage Index (IMSN) of fictitious salaries by category as one of its components.
Between January and November of last year, the variation in the IMSN was 8.39%. The Board of Directors of the Professionals Fund indicated that this adjustment covers retirement contributions and the Labor Reconversion Fund (Law 19,689), and that, once published by the National Institute of Statistics (INE) the value of the index corresponding to December 2023, the final value of the contributions for 2024 will be determined.
The statement details that “the adjustment is made in accordance with the provisions established in current legislation for the adjustment of fictitious salaries (Law 17,738), and was ordered by the Board of Directors in a session on December 28, 2023.”
The contribution rate will go from 16.5% to 18.5%
As announced in November of last year, the contribution rate It was increased by 2%, going from 16.5% to 18.5% from the beginning of 2024, and will remain in force throughout the year.
