On Wednesday, December 8, the US Embassy in Moscow received a note of protest warning of the dangerous consequences of the military activity of the States and NATO members. This is stated in the comments of the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
She stressed that the military activity of the United States and NATO member countries along the perimeter of Russian borders, including flights of military aircraft and dangerous maneuvers of naval ships, continues to gain momentum. At the same time, the allies of the alliance switched to provocations against civilian aircraft. This, according to Zakharova, endangers the safety of the airspace and human lives.
“In connection with these provocative actions, the US Embassy in Moscow was handed a note of protest on December 8, warning about the dangerous consequences of such recklessness,” said a spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Zakharova clarified that the submission lists recent incidents related to NATO activities. In particular, on December 3, the CL600 reconnaissance aircraft over the open waters of the Black Sea performed a flight with an intensive descent from an altitude of 11 thousand to 9.2 thousand meters. At the same time, the aircraft crossed the route established for civil aircraft.
The crew did not respond to requests from air traffic services. Then the dispatchers had to quickly change the directions and flight levels of two passenger liners at once in order to prevent the danger of a collision.
At the same time, on December 8, Russian leader Vladimir Putin said that the NATO bloc was clearly pursuing a line of confrontation with Russia. According to him, the alliance is unfriendly and declares the Russian Federation its adversary.
On October 6, the alliance decided to revoke the accreditation of eight employees of the Russian representative office at the organization. In response, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced the suspension of the work of the Russian mission to NATO from November 1.
