The 38-year-old Bavarian will hold this position until summer 2024. Marcel Thallinger has been working as U18 academy head coach since summer 2023. From summer 2021 to winter 2022/23 he worked as a coach at the German regional league team TSV Buchbach. He follows, at least until the summer, Wolfgang Schrattenecker, who moved to RB Salzburg in the winter.
“With Marcel Thallinger we have a young but experienced sporting director and at the same time remain true to our training and playing ideas,” says Wolfgang Fiala, sports director at SV Ried.
