The first opponent on Saturday from 6 p.m. in Seekirchen is none other than Austria’s champion Freistadt, newly crowned silver medalist at the Champions Cup. In the first half of the season, TuS suffered a 3-0 defeat, and this time too the Kremstal team are blatant outsiders.
Duel in the relegation battle
The starting position in the second encounter against the home team from Seekirchen is completely different. “We are challenged to repeat our victory from the first half of the season,” says coach Dietmar Winterleitner. In the 3-2 win at the end of November, TuS had to fight hard for a long time before the deciding set resulted in a clear 11-3. In seventh place, the Kremstal team are currently in a non-relegation zone. Seekirchen, as neighbors in the table, has to worry about staying in the league.
There is a question mark for the Green-Whites before the start of the second half of the season: young hopeful Max Kadisch injured his hip in training. “We’re not expecting him at the moment. Let’s see what the further investigations bring,” says Winterleitner.
