The Department of Black river is going through a controversy over the excessive charging of fines by the private outsourced company in charge of the violations; With this, he decided to cancel the 11,000 fines after sustained complaints from neighbors, in addition to not renewing with the company.
Added to the neighbors’ complaints, several representatives of the Wide Front (FA) and members of the National Party (PN) They spoke out against the actions of the department in conjunction with the Argentine company teslights, that, according to the citizens of Black river, fined excessively.
Faced with this, the mayor of Río Negro, the nationalist Omar Lafluf, decided that it will write off 11,000 fines that have already been notified but not yet charged to the Single Vehicle Income Collection System (Sucive). However, “there are around 15,000 that are neither agreed upon nor paid,” said the mayor, but who have already been admitted to Sucive. In that sense, the communal chief assured that “we will have to see how we comply with the abbreviated tender.”
This is in addition to the measure by the mayor which was to terminate the contract with the company Teslights. The mayor of Black river, Omar Laflufhad decided to terminate the contract with the private company, a measure that was going to be communicated on January 16 at the departmental meeting.
Subsequently, he will call for a new tender for a company to take the place. “I am here to defend the people, not the company,” said the mayor. At the same time, the complainants consider the fact that the contract of the denounced company has been terminated to be a triumph.
A commission that generated controversy
Another situation that generated controversy is the fact that the company collected 50% of each fine, an agreement agreed between the IRN and Teslights. However, after the first protests by neighbors regarding the company’s collection, the commission was reduced to 35%.
Meanwhile, the company’s defense is that the radars are validated by the LATU. “The fines collected are well collected, because they are endorsed by the national body that is in charge of measuring whether the control is real or not,” Lafluf said this Tuesday, although he admitted that the episode “was complicated.”
In that sense, the mayor of Rio Negro took charge of the case. “I have been in government for 13 years and I have done many things that are very good. This did not turn out well at all and I have to admit it,” he acknowledged.
Seizure and court case
Last Friday the mayor decided to remove the speed radars. The second shift prosecutorJoaquín Suárez, requested the fair judge seize the equipment of photo fines that were being removed this Friday morning by the private company that owns the devices after the neighbors had filed a complaint judicial complaint due to excessive photo fines.
The neighbors considered that the devices were evidence for the judicial investigationthat was being carried out. Therefore, the Prosecutor’s Office asked that the radars be seized, a job carried out by a group of Firefighters and of Scientific police who will carry out the expertise correspondent. The order is for all devices, even those that are still in the columns.
“A correct and total survey of them and in the first instance determine whether or not there was authorization for their withdrawal,” the prosecutor of the case assured Subrayado.
Citizens understand that seizure of the radars is the correct way to test the irregularities after having reported excessive fines. The complainants maintain that the devices are contraband material and ask that the investigation reach a conclusion regarding the proper functioning of the system or whether thousands of fines were invoiced in a manner illegal.
