A total of four earthquakes have been recorded in the past few days. At around 10:40 a.m. an earthquake of magnitude 2.5 occurred near Waidring (Kitzbühel district), and a magnitude of 3.4 was measured in the same region on Friday night. As the Austrian Seismological Service (Geosphere Austria) announced, the tremors were sometimes clearly felt in the epicenter area.

“Thundering or rumbling of the underground”

Some people described the tremors as thundering or rumbling from the ground. With this thickness, very slight damage, such as cracks in the plaster, cannot be ruled out. The night before there had been two earthquakes in the border triangle of Tyrol, Bavaria and Salzburg, with magnitudes of 2.2 and 3.3.
