After King Charles III’s prostate treatment became known. Significantly more people in Great Britain have found out more about the disease. The NHS recorded eleven times more inquiries than usual on its enlarged prostate information page. The word “prostate” was searched 13 times more often on Google and the term “benign prostate enlargement” was searched 50 times more often, The Sun newspaper reported on Friday.

The charity Prostate Cancer UK said the number of people using its online risk check had doubled compared to the previous week following the announcement. According to media reports, Charles wanted to go public to raise awareness of the topic, which is often treated as taboo. The 75-year-old has been British monarch for more than a year. Prostate Cancer UK thanked the Head of State for his openness. “It is very important to raise awareness about prostate health,” said Chiara De Biase from the organization.

According to the NHS, an enlarged prostate is particularly common in people over 50. For those over 75 years of age it is 70 to 80 percent. Every year the NHS carries out around 15,000 procedures.
For treatment in Scotland
As the Sun further reported, Charles is being treated in Scotland, where he has a residence available. Queen Camilla (76) canceled her flight back to England after an appointment in Aberdeen to stay with her husband. “He’s fine, thank you,” the Queen said when asked about Charles’ health. The monarch will likely have to stay in the hospital for one night because of the procedure. The “Sun” speculated that he would then not attend any appointments for up to a month.
