A project that contemplates the construction of a hotel on the coastal strip of Jose Ignacio generated a strong controversy between different actors of Maldonado, in an episode similar to that which occurred with the real estate initiative in Punta Ballena, which will be evaluated in the coming weeks by the government.
The venture was considered by the mayor Enrique Antía as “a great project that allows the coastal area to be defined without aggression” and, in a press conference, he considered that “it gives stability to the area”, in addition to allowing “the arrival of tourists international companies with great purchasing power.
The development of Country Hotel in La Juanita was approved this week by the Departmental Board of Maldonado, with 21 votes out of 31.
