New comedy in the Theaterkeller Haag impresses with some dark humor

On Friday, the Theaterkeller Haag starts its 27th season. With the new in-house production “My Rose Red Wedding” by Gerard Bitton and Michel Munz, the ensemble shows that despite this long time it has lost none of its verve and wit.

It is this unmistakable type of humor with which her ensemble entertains the audience deliciously, says Lisa Dieminger, chairwoman of the KIM cultural association: “It is partly black humor, but no boundaries are crossed.” This was already the case last year with the huge success of the comedy “Das Bärtchen”. Now the “pink wedding” seamlessly follows on from this. It’s a comedy with brilliant punchlines, funny dialogues and incredible pacing: Bachelor Henri can be happy because his late aunt will bequeath him a million euros. But only on one condition: he must get married within a year. But Henri doesn’t want to give up his numerous affairs and so he happily accepts his lawyer Norbert’s suggestion: “Just marry a man!” Said and done. Henri’s best friend, the unemployed and alone Dodo, is the chosen one. What follows is not a supposedly problem-free “marriage” but an absolute nightmare.

In addition to well-known faces such as Doris Krause, Stefan Parzer and Michael Zintl-Reburg, Oliver Roitinger and Walter Spanny, both known from the Steyr “Theater am Fluss”, can be seen on the theater basement stage for the first time. Directed by Martin Dreiling.
