The unknown man entered the “Am Eck” tobacconist in Steyr around 4 p.m., demanded “This is a robbery, I know it’s all big money – just bills” and pointed a silver-colored pistol at the 63-year-old employee. She took all the cash notes from the cash drawer and the perpetrator put them in his jacket pockets.
The man then asked the employee to get more cash from the back of the tobacconist. When she stated that there was no money there, the perpetrator fled the store, police reported on Monday. A search that was launched immediately was unsuccessful. The 63-year-old suffered a shock during the attack.
The perpetrator is described as 1.70 to 1.75 meters tall and slim, and his age is estimated to be around 30 years old. During the attack he was wearing dark trousers, dark shoes, a green, white and red striped jacket with a gray hood, black gloves and a black balaclava.
