The man from Innviertel had driven his car off the right side of the state road for reasons that are still unclear. The car then spun and crashed into the stable wall of a farm. 24 forces from the Altheim and Roßbach fire departments arrived and freed the injured driver from the wreckage of the accident. The 73-year-old was then taken by rescue to Braunau Hospital. The car was totaled.
The Altheim fire department received the next emergency call at 8:37 p.m. An elderly gentleman was reported missing. He was last out on his bike but didn’t return. The search operation, in which three other fire departments took part, was still ongoing in the evening.
