Friend of victim questioned
The relationship between the accused Upper Austrian and the victim was briefly examined again on the second day of the trial, when a good friend of the person killed was questioned as a witness. He described that the woman, who worked as a dominatrix and got to know the 29-year-old as a customer, also had a personal relationship with the man that corresponded to these inclinations. The accused stated that he had a “real relationship” with the woman and that he also wanted to propose to her. “She would never have accepted him, he wasn’t the type of man she was usually into,” the witness was convinced.
“No unconscious steering movement”
The crime occurred when the woman asked the man to leave the apartment during an argument. The Upper Austrian took a knife and stabbed his victim again and again. He then got into the car and, according to the indictment, drove into an oncoming vehicle with suicidal intent. He himself was seriously injured, the other driver died at the scene of the accident.

Defense attorney Gerald Ruhri saw the acts as an “act of murder caused by emotion” and “grossly negligent homicide.” During the accident, his client held the steering wheel with his left hand and turned it 180 degrees to look at a wound on his forearm. Traffic expert Peter Vyskocil was unable to understand this based on the evidence. “It can be assumed that there will be an abrupt change of lane,” he said and added: “An unconscious deflection movement can be ruled out from a driving perspective.”
