Upper Austria’s young people should be excited about the areas of digitalization and artificial intelligence. “The digital transformation and the creation of new job profiles are in full swing,” says Youth Regional Councilor Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer (VP).
The Youth Service Upper Austria has therefore been offering free “Code & future” workshops for seventh and eighth grade classes since October 2023. The young people receive “practical and future-oriented insights into the IT professional world” at partner companies, as Hattmannsdorfer explains.
Visiting Dynatrace
On Tuesday, a class from TNMS Lembach was a guest at the software company Dynatrace in Linz. “The young people get to know everyday creative life up close,” says co-founder Sok-Kheng Taing. According to the teachers, student interest was increased. “The fact that we manage to show young people opportunities and arouse enthusiasm is motivating and an incentive,” Taing concluded positively.
By March, the workshops are expected to have reached 52 classes with a total of over 600 students. “The first season of ‘Codes & Future’ was incredibly popular – we will therefore roll out the program with additional partners,” says Youth Regional Councilor Hattmannsdorfer.
