By participating in this nationwide network of all hospitals, optimal care close to home can be ensured, even for rare cancers. “No matter where you are at home in Upper Austria – by networking the hospitals in the Upper Austrian Tumor Center, we want to guarantee top medical care that is close to home at the same time. By joining, we want this optimal care for our patients at the St. Josef Hospital in Braunau, even for rare cancers “says Primary Florian Roitner, Head of Department of Internal Medicine 2 at Braunau Hospital.

With the Upper Austrian Tumor Center you can access specialists in all member hospitals. The treatment will then “continue to take place at our Braunau Hospital if possible,” says Roitner.

Individual treatment plans

The successes in cancer research in recent years have led to increasing specialization in oncology. In order to achieve optimal treatment quality, it is now necessary to develop individual treatment plans for all patients.

By networking medical experts, oncology patients can be guaranteed the best possible care across hospital boundaries. The treatment is based on 60 guidelines from the tumor center.
