The winter sports enthusiasts were hit by the masses of snow and then taken to the hospital, the police said. The degree of injury and the exact course of the accident were still unclear.
An avalanche also occurred around half an hour later in Neustift in the Stubaital. However, no one was injured, it was said.

Danger level 3
After the avalanche danger had been relatively low in recent weeks, a combination of fresh snow and wind since the middle of the week caused the danger in Tyrol to rise to level 3 on the five-part scale on Friday. According to the avalanche report, the conditions for touring and freeriding are “sometimes unfavorable” – even individual, medium-sized spontaneous avalanches cannot be ruled out.
