A civil patrol from the Upper Austrian State Transport Department was on the A7 in Linz at around 1:35 a.m. on Saturday. The police noticed a car traveling at far too high a speed. This left the A7 via the VOEST exit and continued on the B3 towards Steyregg. Immediately before the Steyregger Bridge, a speed of 184 km/h was measured instead of the permitted 100 km/h. Due to the very high speed, the driver oscillated between the left and right lane several times. The car was then stopped for a driver and vehicle inspection.
The 17-year-old test driver’s license holder from the Linz-Land district stated that he had only had the car for three days and that he wanted to test it out. The driver’s license was temporarily confiscated immediately on the spot and further driving was prohibited.
