According to police spokesman Philipp Haßlinger, witnesses – who had also alerted the emergency services – reported that the perpetrators attacked the victim quite suddenly at around 7 p.m. on Medwedweg and beat and kicked him. An aggressor hit the 18-year-old in the head with the handle of a blank pistol.
The perpetrator also fired once at the young man. A second shot was probably fired into the air. The victim suffered serious head injuries in the attack but was able to escape before the police arrived. The perpetrators also escaped undetected. It was only a few hours later that the 18-year-old’s brother reported to a police station and said that the young man was in a hospital.

Two casings from the blank gun were found at the crime scene. Immediate searches and identity checks were unsuccessful. The investigators are now hoping to gain further information from the 18-year-old’s interrogation, such as whether the perpetrator and victim are known to each other. An investigation is underway for intentionally causing serious bodily harm.
