Two new master’s degree programs at the FH Steyr campus

There is already great interest in the places for the new master’s degree programs at the Steyr campus of the FH Wels, says Dean Heimo Losbichler: “With ‘Human Resource Management’ we offer practical concepts and solutions to counteract the labor shortage in companies in the long term. With ‘Logistics Engineering and Management’, we have created an innovative offer with excellent job prospects.”

Both courses start this year in the winter semester and applications are now possible. Details are available monthly at the “Online Study Talks”. Ambassador for the young generation

Demographic change and the changing attitudes of younger generations towards work have brought human resources issues to the center of corporate attention. “Human Resource Management” (HRM) is intended to find new, radical answers to these challenges – the specialists must be as knowledgeable in strategic issues as they are in international HRM and in questions of diversity and intercultural management. In the new master’s degree course, future managers learn how to inspire employees for their company, retain them and support them.

The course is intended to open doors for participants to enter human resources management, but also to advance into management positions. “Modern human resource management creates the basis for attracting top performers, retaining them long-term and only thereby ensuring the long-term success of the company,” says HR expert Hannes Hofstadler from the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria.
The course starts in autumn and the entry requirement is a relevant degree.

With technology to greener logistics

Climate change, a shortage of skilled workers and economic crises also require new ways of thinking and solving problems in logistics. Artificial intelligence, robotics and alternative energy sources are playing an increasingly important role in making logistics processes resilient, efficient and sustainable. The future students of the master’s degree program “Logistics Engineering and Management” at the Steyr campus of the Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences move in this exciting environment of technology and logistics processes and projects.

According to course director Veit Kohnhauser, the offer is aimed at people who feel that something needs to change: “Our course imparts the necessary engineering and management skills in a practical and scientifically sound manner. We make it possible to make a concrete and noticeable contribution to the transformation to digital and sustainable logistics.” To do this, students learn about innovative technologies in the application area of ​​logistics in order to implement them in practice. In this way, graduates are equipped to plan and design tomorrow’s logistics processes in the spirit of sustainability.
