That went quickly: after five minutes, in yesterday’s city senate meeting, the financing of the city’s companies for the years 2022/23 was waved through with votes from the SPÖ and ÖVP, and it will be submitted to the municipal budget council for a decision next Thursday.
Only the Greens abstained – but not because they are against the financing, as City Councilor Eva Schobesberger emphasizes: “We want to discuss the items in the parliamentary group on Monday.” In the municipal council, the Greens will probably only not vote on the grants for security services – 3.6 million euros are earmarked for this in two years.
As expected, FP city councilor Michael Raml also nodded the majority. Only with the grants for the Design Center – a total of two million – and those for the Linz museums – around seven million are planned – was there a veto. In total, the grants to municipal companies amount to 100,886,000 euros.
