Biden told Zelensky about the West’s concern over the “aggression” of the Russian Federation

US President Joe Biden, in a conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky, said that the United States and Europe were concerned about Russia’s “aggressive actions”. This was reported on December 9 on the White House website.

At the same time, it is noted that the States and their allies will respond with decisive measures to the invasion of the Russian Federation into the territory of Ukraine.

“The president [Джо] Biden expressed deep concern of the United States and European allies about Russia’s aggressive actions against Ukraine and made it clear that the United States and its allies would respond with decisive economic and other measures in the event of further military intervention, ”the US presidential administration said.

According to the statement, Biden reaffirmed “the unwavering commitment of the United States to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.”

In addition, the American leader made it clear that the United States, its allies and partners are committed to the principle of “no decisions or discussions on Ukraine without Ukraine”, follows from the official statement.

“The leaders called on Russia to reduce tensions and agreed that diplomacy is the best way to make meaningful progress in resolving the conflict,” the White House press service concluded.

Earlier, on December 9, it was reported that the talks between the presidents of Ukraine and the United States lasted about an hour and a half. It was noted that the head of the White House told his Ukrainian counterpart about his talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Biden also said in a conversation with the Ukrainian leader that the decision to join NATO is a decision made exclusively by Ukraine and the alliance.

In addition, the leaders of the two countries touched upon possible formats for resolving the conflict in Donbass.

Also on Thursday, the head of the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces, Valery Gerasimov, called unreliable information about the impending Russian invasion of Ukraine. He also noted that military activities that are carried out on national territory do not require notification.

The press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said on December 6 that the Kremlin sees clearly aggressive rhetoric of the West on Ukraine and media stuffing about the allegedly planned Russian invasion of this country. According to him, the tension in Ukraine can be removed only by receiving a guarantee that Kiev has abandoned a possible military solution to the Donbass problem by force.
