In the ski area of Gemeindealpe (Lilienfeld district) a skier came off the piste on Saturday morning and crashed into a tree. The 57-year-old died at the scene of the accident, and the emergency doctor who was called could only determine that the woman was dead, the Lower Austria State Police Department said.

The skier fell shortly after 9 a.m. on the “summit slope” for an unknown reason and then collided with a tree. Despite the resuscitation measures that were immediately initiated, the 57-year-old died.
